Everybody knows what blur is. We can compare the effect with a photo, made with your camera when it was out of focus. In other words, this effect is attained when each pixel of the initial image mixes with the surrounding pixels.

Photoshop offers web designers and photographers a great variety of blurring filters. The most frequently used are: Gaussian Blur, Lens Blur, Motion Blur, Radial Blur, Spin and Zoom Blurs. Depending on the result, an artist wants to achieve, he uses one blur or another, or even several effects together. Blurs in web design are almost indispensable as they perform some practical functions. It’s a well known fact, that all design tricks and decorations are employed with one single purpose: to present the content in the most winning and catching way. At the same time the designers should not forget that a high-grade website should stand out against the competitors. In this aspect, web developers simply can’t do without creative quality images. From time to time, they face the problem that a gorgeous image draws user’s attention from content or the text becomes not readable due to background photo. Sometimes it is almost impossible to combine an attractive image with required text.

Fortunately, the problem can be completely solved with the help of blur. And the designer even shouldn’t blur the whole image in order not to spoil it. Actually, you kill two birds with one stone: you preserve a nice appealing image and get easy readable text. A skillfully used selective blur can even refer the user’s attention in the right direction. The necessity of placing the beauty to the altar of usability is second to none. But that’s only a tip of an iceberg. Blur helps to create different visual effects that break the monotony of corporate web sites. By blurring the surrounding objects, the major one automatically falls into the focus of the visitor. A designer, possessing turbulent imagination can squeeze multiple original ideas from the effect. For example, blur can create an illusion of dizzy speed; it can add depth to the scene. Glowing effect and light rays coming out of the object are also the result of blur application.

We highlighted only few positive moments connected to blurred images in websites layout. You are welcome to discover the rest of them viewing the wonderful samples provided for your infusion.

Today we have prepared another collection of unique and inspiring designs, but before you check them out, let us explain what Multi Level Websites are.

By Multi Level Websites we mean the websites that are divided into different stages. For instance, you enter the website and find yourself in the sky. Then you scroll down and see as content fits the illustration of the earth, water or even underground.

Web designers follow this trend when they create online portfolios and personal websites. In this way designers impress their visitors and take us to the places we have never been before.

Most websites you’ll find below are single page designs. Also, we could notice that the common elements for multi level websites are colorful illustrations and large backgrounds. Once you enter the website you will take an exiting trip from the sky to the ground or even underground.

Please enjoy the most creative multi level websites and we hope you won’t get tired of scrolling because most sites are long page designs.

Black, white and red are the most popular colors in web design. In most cases one of these colors dominates over the others but sometimes we can see them all together in one website.

Take a look at the websites listed below – all of them look simply amazing thanks to a black- white-red color scheme! No doubt this color choice has been rather successful so far and there are high chances it’ll continue to be so.
