All the visual arts have found strong places on the web. After all, computers and the web have been moving steadily from text to image for three decades. That doesn’t even account for what will happen this next decade in motion and Flash applications and video feeds.
Photographers, artists and graphic designers all love the web. Galleries and museums are all getting websites, and upgrading websites. Why? It’s a visual thing!
There is almost no reason that today’s artists go unnoticed. The world wide web is actually almost worldwide. Webpages are affordable - no they are cheap! Prices have come down. One of the least expensive ways to to get a webpage functioning to show your art is by using a web template.
Web templates come in all colors and designs - just shop for the template that suits your esthetic predilections. Webpage templates range in cost from $40 - $70 now - and they are relatively exclusive. A webpage template for artists can also be customized easiy to make it a unique website as well.
Where do webpage template designers get their ideas for web template designs for art galleries. It’s simple. They visit the websites of artists and galleries all over the world. They choose the best features of these webpages. They make creative changes of their own - and voila’ they have a new web template design. Here are a few excellent and different artist webpages to use as examples for the discussion.

Artists may design their own webpages, they may hire a designer - or they may save time and money by finding a webpage template that suits their online gallery needs. It’s a personal matter -based in part on the artist’s style and esthetic preferences.
Web templates for artists are usually designed to contain a portfolio that is shown in a gallery style. One collection that is extensive, varied and inexpensive can be seen at Template Monster. This collection has everything from regular artist gallery web templates to Flash templates to WordPress themes - all geared to the visual artist online gallery.
So whether you want the motion and soundtrack of a Flash template, the blog personability of a WordPress Theme, or a full standard online art gallery - there is no reason not to look good in your own gallery for the world’s exhibition.
Dedicated to the Arts,
Arthur “Arts” Browning
